Investing and Scaling in Emerging Ecosystems
Two recent CO-INVESTIN events have highlighted the unique opportunities and challenges in emerging European ecosystems:
Portugal and Beyond with Nico Goulet (Adara), Itxaso Del Palacio (Notion) and Stephan Moraes (Indico).
The event on investing and scaling in Portugal attracted 217 attendees who explored the unique position of the Iberian Peninsula as a tech hub. With its critical mass of talent, smart money, and easy access to the Latin American and US markets, Iberia is uniquely positioned for growth. However, challenges remain, including the need for larger funds and better alignment between investors and entrepreneurs. The region shows strong potential for deep tech success, particularly if more emphasis is placed on leveraging universities and research programs. With increasing interest and efforts, there is optimism for the emergence of category leaders and significant exits within the next five years.
